When Is an Individual Referred to Probation?...

When a Defendant...
...comes before the court and a Pre-Sentence Investigation is ordered prior to the defendant returning to the court for sentencing.
...is sentenced to probation by order of the court.
...is sentenced to perform Community Service by order of the court.
...is sentenced to pay restitution by order of the court.

TYPES OF PROBATION
Active Probation – report in person Active Probationers report on the 3rd or 4th Tuesday of the month.
Inactive Probation – reporting by phone  Inactive Probationers report by phone on the 3rd or 4th Tuesday of the month.

FIRST OFFENDERS’ PROGRAM
This is a program for First Offenders to divert them from the full impact of the criminal justice system.  If the defendant complies with the orders of the court, the underlying criminal charge will be dismissed.
